APSC TA Training: Coaching and Team Management Workshop

Background:
High performing teams and organizational collaboration is important in Faculty of Applied Science course teams, and continues to be important in our professional practices. Learn the techniques and approaches that top performing companies draw on to resolve team disputes, and set teams up for fewer of them. We will practice how TAs and instructors can practice them with students.

These include:

-evidence based self-assessment and awareness development tools, supported by organizational psychology,

-team communication systems, including facilitation, coaching, and dialogue,

-when and how to set team goals and expectations,

-how these team practices intersect with the organizational culture, using a systems thinking perspective,

-intercultural communication, and

-how to help teams when the going gets tough, and we can’t deliver what we originally intended to.
